Now why do you think that, this is a common reaction to food?

Feeding a toddler has never been an easy task. Just like us they expect the food to match their tastes and preferences. They seem to be the quickest in identifying the flavor profiles of food, especially the ones they dislike.

Toddlers can be the extremely fussy when it comes to food. But being parents you are equally concerned that your child is eating the right food and getting the right kind of nourishment required for his/her age. So here is a list of 3 super healthy foods recommended for each and every toddlerIs this the face your toddler makes before every meal?

1. FLAXSEED: This nutty plant food is packed full of Omega-3 fatty acids which are needed for optimal brain development. Flaxseed is sold whole and ground, but research suggests that ground is absorbed by the body better. Try sprinkling ground flaxseed onto cereal or into the batter of sweet treats like Pancakes. Your little children won’t even know that they are eating healthy!

2. SWEET POTATOES: This spud is one of the most nutritious (and inexpensive) vegetables around. The Vitamin A in sweet potatoes keeps eyes healthy, and acts like an antioxidant in the body. Sweet potatoes are a favorite among babies because of their natural sweetness and bright color, but they are often forgotten once kids get older. The best and simplest way to prepare it is in the form of Two-Potato Mash and Sweet Potato fries.

3. BLACK BEANS: Beans are a great source of protein, as well as fiber and calcium — two things kids tend not to get enough of. The darker the color, the better they are. They also help guard against heart disease and high cholesterol, which aren’t adults-only problems. These days kids as old as 7–9 years old suffer from high cholestorol. Ways to get them in your kid’s diet: Make nachos or quesadillas with black beans, cheese and salsa or just dal.
