Underarm odour is a very real problem that a lot of people face in their day-to-day life. 1. Apple Cider Vinegar
This is a product that is easily available in your nearest supermarket and also a natural marvel. One of the main causes of odour is bacteria and the antibacterial properties of apple cider vinegar fight off against the bacterial growth. All you need to do is pour some apple cider vinegar in a bowl. Dip a cotton ball in it and wipe your underarms. This will reduce the pH of the skin, thereby eradicate the armpit odor. You can also make a spray by filling water and apple cider vinegar equally in a spray bottle. Or, rinse your underarms with ACV while bathing.
When it comes to home remedies, nothing beats this good old faithful ingredient. The acidic properties of lemon help kill smell creating bacteria and alo helps with the pH level of your skin. It is easy to use too as you can simply slice a lemon and rub it against your underarm. Other ways to use it include- extracting lemon juice and applying it directly on your underarm. You can also mix the lemon juice with some water and make a spray out of it.
In a twist of events, we see that the cause can actually, also, be the cure. To tackle odour caused by sweat, gently rub some alcohol. Application of alcohol on the skin helps close the pores. It evaporates easily and reduces the smell. You can also add some alcohol in a mug of water and use it to rinse your armpits.
4. Rose water
One of the most soothing remedies, rose water does not only fight underarm odour but also adds a freshness and scent of its own. You can directly apply rose water to your armpits or can add a few drop of it to your bathing water for long lasting freshness.
5. Baking Soda
Baking soda is an ingredient that can help solve this problem in combination with other ingredients. Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with one tablespoon of lemon juice, mix the two well, apply it on the armpits and let it rest for some time. Rinse off with clean water and pat dry.
Another option is to mix a little amount of cornstarch with baking soda and apply it under your arms to absorb excess sweat. Or else, prepare baking soda paste by adding a little water to it and apply it under armpits after shower.
Apart from these, we would suggest that you make sure you keep yourself hydrated, bathe regularly, change clothes frequently and avoid caffeinated beverages.
