With all the hype and excitement that surrounds pregnancy, there is one thing we like to avoid talking about – Pregnancy problems. Mums tend to face a lot of “oops” moments whilst pregnant which can get quite embarrassing.
There are also many bodily changes occurring which can feel embarrassing so we tend to avoid talking about it.
A major problem faced by most women is burping and farting at the most random times and being unable to control it. Don’t worry, you aren’t alone, and being pregnant gives you a free pass. But be prepared for the awkwardness that may follow.
2. Sweat Store
With all the excess work your body is doing, there is excess heat being produced. This means sweat patches are back in fashion. This can get annoying, but you get used to it. Maybe you can start a trend?
3. Pee Everywhere
Incontinence is a major problem faced by most pregnant women. It is when there is involuntary leakage of urine. Being preggers, you’ll have to put up with a little bit of leakage whenever you cough, sneeze, hiccup, or laugh. We recommend wearing panty liners. This will make you less conscious when you’re around your friends and family, or out in public.
4. Saliva Mouth
One of the weirdest pregnancy problems is the excess production of saliva. The number of times you’ll find yourself having to spit this out will make you feel like you’ve just stepped into an old Wild West movie. It is, however, a very common problem, and you’ll soon learn the most inconspicuous ways of dealing with the spit.
5. Hairy Yeti
Hair growth is stimulated during pregnancy which is probably why you’ve got that shiny new mustache gracing your face. The best ways to get rid of excess body hair are waxing or tweezing. On the bright side, your hair looks great!
Not only is this embarrassing, but it can also be quite painful. In order to avoid getting it, make sure you drink lots of water and eat food rich in fibre so that your digestion remains good and you don’t get constipated. If you’re already facing the bane that is hemorrhoids, then try using anti-inflammatory creams. Remember to be gentle when wiping your butt.
7. Pimple Queen
It’s like puberty all over again. God knows no one wants to relive their pimple lives from when they hit teenager-hood. This breakout is due to the excess hormones being produced in your body. Remember to drink lots of water to keep your body cool, and you can use normal face wash after consulting your doctor.
8. Pigment Parcel
During pregnancy, there are high chances that you could face skin darkening. This is because due to the extra estrogen, the production of melanin is also stimulated. It could lead to darkening of your nipples and a dark line running down your belly. The good news is that it will fade after you give birth.
9. Constipation Nation
Along with being gassy, you may also face the problem of lack of poop. It could get embarrassing when you spend a good half an hour in the loo trying to get something out of your system. The best way to deal with this is to drink lots of water and eat lots of food rich in fibre.
10. Milk Leakage
There is a chance that you could start lactating before giving birth. So it may become awkward when you’re out with your friends and they notice a wet patch on your shirt in the boob-region. It doesn’t hurt to be prepared in case this happens, so why not buy a few breast pads and keep them handy.
11. What is sex?
Your sex drive can get affected in two ways. Either it decreases and you find yourself having intimacy issues, or you become as horny as a bunny. The latter could lead to awkward situations such as dream-fantasizing about certain people, whilst the former could lead to awkwardness in bed with your spouse. Talking to your spouse about it might help. But do remember that it’s normal to feel fluctuations in your sex drive and these will calm down after you’ve given birth.
