Banana seems like a simple, boring fruit doesn’t it? Nope, that is where you are wrong. With its naturally sweet goodness. it is a super healthy fruit that is very good for your child. It is rich in potassium and low in sodium, which makes it a super food for a healthy heart.

Furthermore, it has plenty of vitamins, mainly Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C. Packed with healthy vitamins and nutrients, but low in sodium, cholesterol, and saturated fat – There is no better food for your child.

But how can you make banana fun and add to its nutrition? We’ve got six ways to show you how!

1. Banana pancakes

Pancakes with maple syrup or chocolate sauce is a yummy breakfast for your children. Now, why not make it more nutritious and yummy with a little banana goodness! Just slice a banana on top of the pancake and drizzle some chocolate or caramel sauce on it. You could also make cute faces with slices of banana and use chocolate sauce to make your child more enthusiastic about the dish.

2. Banana fritters

Banana fritters are simply healthy and yummy for a cold rainy day, or actually any day! Your kids will love the crunchy goodness, which is also healthy for them. But do remember to shallow fry the fritters so they remain healthy and do not use excess oil.

3. Banana and chocolate/peanut milkshake

Chocolate or peanut butter! Which child ever says no to these yummy ingredients. Make some delicious chocolate/peanut butter banana shakes that is sure to become a favourite with your child, making bananas go from yucky to yummy!

4. Banana with yoghurt

It doesn’t get healthier than yoghurt and banana! With the natural sweetness of banana and the creamy yoghurt, the combo is definitely going to be a hit among your children. You could also try adding some other delicious fruits like mango and strawberry along to make a tropical fruit salad!

5. Banana popsicles

Popsicles are quite the rage during summer time, so why not try making them healthy with some banana! Banana popsicles are super easy to make and all you have to do is cut a banana in half (use big bananas for this), attach it to a little popsicle stick and pop them into the fridge. Once they’ve hardened (after a few hours), dip them in some chocolate sauce, top this with some sprinkles and serve. Simple, tasty and oh-so-healthy. 🙂   

6. Banana muffins

Kids love cakes and muffins, so try baking a batch of plain banana or banana and chocolate chip muffins. They are simple and easy to make, and healthy. Also, since bananas are naturally sweet, you wouldn’t even need to add too much of that unhealthy processed sugar. So, baker moms, go ahead and make some scrumptious banana muffins for your little ones.
