Ever wondered how celebrity moms lost weight surprisingly fast and returned to their old selves in no time? (At least, it seems that way.) We provide you with a list of such actresses and the fitness regimes that made them ‘yummy mummies’.             

1. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took her time to reduce weight, unlike most actresses, and enjoyed motherhood like it should be. A few months after pregnancy, she graced us with her slim, toned figure and stunned everyone. She revealed that the secret to her weight loss was a fat-free diet of fresh fruits, boiled vegetables and brown rice (in place of white rice). She stuck to small-portioned meals and always started her day with a glass of hot water with lemon and honey to aid her metabolism.

2. Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor is still in the process of shedding the weight she gained during pregnancy. She’s revealed that a positive attitude is key along with not being in a hurry to lose weight. She’s been seen going to the gym several times a week and swears by walking at least 20-30 mins everyday to strengthen her core.

3. Shilpa Shetty

She’s always been in great shape, pregnant or not. Post delivery, Shilpa revealed that she maintained a diet that was free of junk food. Her diet consisted of limited carbohydrates and fruits and vegetables, while balancing her protein intake. She lost 21 kgs in 3 and half months by also integrating yoga into her daily routine.

4. Kajol

After the birth of her second child, Kajol was determined to lose all the flab she had gained over time. She worked with her trainer to target her core muscles and fat areas in her body. Her fitness mantra included endurance training, yoga, lifts and squats. The actor is equally strict about what she eats. Her diet includes fish, eggs, paneer, nuts, lean chicken and milk. All these foods have helped her lose around 18 kgs in five months.

5. Lara Dutta

This yummy mummy shed her pregnancy weight by following a strict fitness regime. She would work out for an hour for 5 days a week. This was followed by a diet plan of raw fruits, nuts, fresh fruit juices and omelettes. She says ‘no’ to caffeine and is a vegetarian. She even has a prenatal yoga DVD in which she demonstrates asanas, which help in a smooth pregnancy.

6. Malaika Arora Khan

Mother of two, Malaika, follows a diet of moderation, which means she eats everything in moderate amounts. Her diet plan includes five meals a day of extremely nutritious foods. 20 minutes of cardio and kickboxing are part of her routine, and she sometimes skips them to enjoy swimming. With such a well-thought-out plan, it’s no wonder she got back to her enviable pre-pregnancy body in no time.

No matter what, know that being a mother is a privilege and a unique experience to everyone. If you’ve been trying to lose your pregancy weight, don’t be down if you don’t achieve the desired result as fast as you wanted and try to stay positive throughout.
