It’s often confusing to choose the right type of foods that will help in your baby’s health and development. Your baby doesn’t eat quite a lot so it’s necessary that, whatever your baby does eat is nutritious. Here are few such super foods for your baby to indulge in. 

1. Bananas

Bananas are high in potassium, calcium and iron. They are a go-to baby food because bananas don’t need much preparation before serving them to your baby. Just make sure they’re ripe and mash them if your baby just started weaning.

2. Sweet potatoes

Because of their texture and sweetness, babies tend to have an affinity towards sweet potatoes. These are a good source of vitamin C and A and are one of the most nutritious vegetables available. Mash them into a smooth puree before feeding your baby.

3. Avocados

Avocados are widely popular as the best first food to introduce your baby to. These have a smooth consistency on top of being full of nutrients and unsaturated fats. Avocados are known to aid your baby’s development. Remove the peel and mash the inside with a fork. Serve it to your baby as it is or a side with protein like egg or meat.

4. Eggs

Eggs are full of protein and Vitamin D. One way to feed egg to your baby is to hard boil it and after peeling off the shell, dig out the yolk and soften it. You can even mix it with other purees if your baby doesn’t take to the taste.

5. Yogurt

Yogurt is a good source of calcium which is important for strong and healthy bones and teeth. To make it yummier for your little one you can add fruit puree to the yogurt. It is also easy to digest.

6. Blueberries

Blueberries are a little hard to get your hands on in India. But if you see them, go for it. They’re extremely beneficial to your baby’s brain and nervous system. They have high antioxidants, fiber and vitamin C. 

7. Carrots

Good vision and healthy growth are two of many things carrots promise. Cook them until soft and make a puree out of them. It’s easy to digest and packed full of nutrients.
